Trends in Lift Interior Design in 2025

Lift interior design closely follows broader architectural and design trends. In 2025, the following directions are dominating the industry.

Natural Materials & Textures

Wood, stone and concrete imitations are extremely popular. The natural appearance creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere even in compact cabins.

Minimalist, Monochrome Design

The “less is more” principle applies: simple forms, neutral colours, subtle lighting. The value lies in the quality of the details.

LED Lighting & Smart Devices

Integrated LED strips and programmable light effects are increasingly common. Digital displays (digital signage) function not only as information tools but also as aesthetic elements.

Sustainable Materials

Demand is growing for recycled materials and low-VOC surfaces, particularly in buildings targeting BREEAM or LEED certification.

Individuality & Personalisation

Clients are increasingly insisting on custom solutions tailored to their brand identity – whether for a hotel, office building or residential complex.

Why does following trends matter in lift design?

The lift interior is one of the most frequently seen spaces in a building – potentially hundreds of people pass through it daily. A modern, fresh appearance creates a positive first impression and increases the building’s value.

1. Natural Materials & Textures

Demand for wood and stone-effect HPL panels remains strong in 2025. “Biophilic design” – incorporating natural elements into enclosed spaces – reduces stress and improves wellbeing. Warm, oak or walnut-effect panels are the most sought-after choices.

2. Minimalist, Monochrome Aesthetics

Fewer decorative elements, more precision. Simple forms, neutral base colours (grey, beige, white) and a single accent element – such as an illuminated suspended ceiling – are the leading trend in high-traffic office buildings and hotels.

3. Integrated LED Lighting

Recessed ceiling or corner-profile integrated LED strips give the cabin a completely new atmosphere. Programmable white light (adjustable from warm to cool) or RGB effects – more and more clients are requesting this.

4. Digital Signage – Smart Displays

Traditional analogue control panels are being replaced by touchscreen digital displays. These serve not only as floor indicators but also as advertising surfaces, news channels and energy efficiency data displays.

5. Sustainable, Low-emission Materials

For buildings targeting BREEAM, LEED or WELL certification, the use of low-VOC materials is mandatory. At our procurement partners, every product comes with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) documentation.

6. Individuality – Brand Identity in the Lift

In hotels and premium office buildings it is increasingly common for the brand colour and company logo to appear in the lift interior – in the form of engraved panels and custom colour combinations.
